Gatwick Airport Pier 5

Gatwick Airport stands as one of the busiest and most prominent international airports in the United Kingdom. Situated approximately 30 miles south of Central London, Gatwick serves as a major hub for both domestic and international air travel. Boasting two terminals and a wide array of amenities, Gatwick offers an efficient travel experience for millions of passengers annually.

Its extensive network of flights connects travellers to destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, making it a vital gateway to the world. Gatwick Airport is renowned for its modern facilities, including shopping outlets, restaurants, lounges, and business services, ensuring that passengers’ needs are catered to throughout their journey. With its strategic location, comprehensive services, and commitment to passenger satisfaction, Gatwick Airport continues to play a pivotal role in global aviation and travel.

Gatwick Pier 5, part of the North Terminal, underwent a significant redevelopment and was officially opened in February 2016. This £80 million project was a key component of Gatwick Airport’s transformation plan, aimed at enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency. The design of Pier 5 allows for vertical segregation of arrival and departure routes, which helps streamline passenger flow and reduce congestion. This modern facility accommodates more aircraft and provides a more efficient and comfortable experience for travellers.

About the projects-

AT&C collaborated with Gatwick Airport to introduce an innovative 24/7 interactive floor projection system, enriching the traveller experience with engaging games and dynamic content. Leveraging IR camera tracking technology and inhouse expertise, AT&C integrated the interactive floor projection into each of the gates in the South terminal of the airport, providing passengers with an entertaining diversion while they wait for flights or transit through the terminal.

The interactive system offers a diverse range of content, and captivating visuals, catering to passengers of all ages. Capable of running 24/7 the interactive floor projection adds a new dimension to the airport environment, delighting travellers and enhancing their overall experience at Gatwick Airport.

David Bowne Said – Your staff’s efforts to provide a safe, secure, professional installation in time for the public ‘go live date’ were sincerely appreciated and we hope this will be the start of a long-lasting relationship between AT&C and Gatwick.
