Convex
Convex Insurance is unique amongst the insurance industry. The company was established in 2019 by veteran insurance experts Stephen Catlin and Paul Brand, and is headquartered in Bermuda with overseas operations in London, Guernsey, Europe and the USA.
Convex’s relative youth, independent status, and legacy-free balance sheet set it aside from the traditional players in the market by operating in a responsive, flexible and decisive environment which allows the company to provide a range of insurance and reinsurance products to clients across various business sectors. Convex distinguishes itself through its focus on underwriting discipline, risk management expertise and innovative solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of its clients. The company offers a comprehensive suite of products, including property, casualty, specialty lines, and other bespoke solutions.
Convex’s London HQ is located in the City’s iconic Scalpel building, and is a hub for its global communications, and relies on the most up-to-date audio-visual and control technology to effectively manage its client base across multiple time zones and communicate its innovative product offerings.
About the project:-
AT&C Professional Systems was brought in at an early stage in Convex’s development initially as the result of an established relationship with an IT company to help redefine their audio-visual environment. The AV infrastructure at the London HQ was becoming obsolete, based around outdated Dolby hardware and a BlueJeans platform which Verizon had decided at that time to retire from the VC market. The client brief had a corporate focus, with an emphasis on equipping numerous meeting rooms, smaller broker booths and the boardroom for efficient and streamlined local and global communications.
Consequently AT&C began to implement the first stages of a transition from the existing systems to a completely new and fully modernised platform, with an essential requirement that any new systems be flexible, easily expandable to be able to cope with the larger spaces, and essentially future-proofed to be able to adapt to new demands as the company grows. AT&C specified HP’s Poly X-Series all-in-one video bars using X30, X50 and X70 cameras for the boardroom and event spaces. There are also integrated G7500 presentation systems which allow connection of many types of microphones, speakers and cameras. Shure ceiling array microphones provide a very unobtrusive and uncluttered solution for round-the-table meetings, capturing individual talkers while eliminating background noise. Moving into the bigger event spaces we added drop-down projection screens, multiple ceiling microphones and additional handheld mics and speakers, with Q-SYS running in the background with PTZ cameras giving seamless integration of audio, video and control for in-house presentations, external all-hands meetings and client meetings.
The new infrastructure with its fully integrated technology enabled Convex staff to streamline their communications methods, making day-to-day operations more seamless, easier to use and with better functionality, such as Zoom’s multi-person detection behaving more like in-person meetings. Neat Board’s 65-inch trolley mounted meeting room package integrates with Zoom or Teams and lessens the digital divide between the physical and the virtual workspace, helping participants engage more intuitively and naturally. These advancements not only improved collaboration during meetings but also facilitated remote participation across Convex’s offices as well as with brokers and clients, enabling teams to connect effortlessly regardless of location. They can now accept calls on different platforms, communicate easily across the company’s entire network, and truly multi-task with several activities going on at the same time, all adding up to a better user experience and helping to sreamline day-to-day working practices. With AT&C’s expertise, Convex Insurance’s meeting rooms have become dynamic hubs of productivity, fostering efficient communication.
“Throughout our collaboration, AT&C has demonstrated a deep understanding of our requirements and has consistently delivered high-quality results within agreed timelines and budgets. Their team’s knowledge and proactive approach have been invaluable in ensuring the success of each and every project.”
